UNIQUE NEW YORK GIANTS INSPIRED SHIRTS

The New York football GIANTS are the defending World Champions, yet you really don't hear much talk about them this year.  There are a few explanations for this floating around the Professional Armchair Quarterback community.  The fact that they play in the pathetic NFC East where the only other team showing signs of life are the RG III led Washington Redskins, where an 8-8 record (or worse) could very well win the division, is probably a major factor.  The other explanation, and the one most widely accepted, is that Rex Ryan and the nightmare that is the New York JETS have been in the limelight ever since Eli Manning and the GIANTS turned the lights off on the last of their post-Super Bowl parties.  Make no mistake, as dysfunctional as it is, ringmaster Rex Ryan and his three ring circus has been the darlings of the New York media, not the GIANTS.

You can change that, one t-shirt at a time.  This holiday season, don't buy the same old official NFL merchandise.  Instead, be an original. Get one of these unique offerings.

GIANT PILLOW FOR ANYONE SLEEPING ON THE BENGALS

The New York Giants found out the hard way.  You don't go to sleep on the AFC North in general, or the Cincinnati Bengals in particular.  Actually, the reality is that the loss doesn't come as a huge surprise, given New York propensity for dropping games in November.

STEELERS GRAB & HOLD IN 24-20 WIN OVER GIANTS

I believe the New York Giants will be powerless (both figuratively, and on account of Hurricane Sandy, quite literally) to stop the Steelers passing attack.  I'm actually anticipating that Big Ben and Mike Wallace will connect on not one, not two, but three deep balls.  I'm predicting that two of those catches are going to go for TDs!  No, we won't be seeing a whole lot of the Dink-n-Dunk today, boys.  At least three catches by number 17, all over 20 yards each.  That's my prediction, and I'm sticking to it.

Shoot, with all the holding that our O-Line gets away with, combined with the grabbing that our DBs do, I'm not really going out on a Frankenstorm spared limb here.  The only thing that might put a little damper on a Steelers pass-fest today at MetLife Stadium , would be if those statements made by DE Justin Tuck and WR Hakeem Nicks were really not true.  Really, where would we be without all that clutching and grabbing?

It won't be a smash-mouth game, more of a surgical "Nip and Tuck" (or Nicks and Tuck) affair.  Steel, this Pittsburgh Armchair Quarterback predicts that the Steelers win, 24-20.

A win against the reigning World Champion Giants, on the road, in New York, would be pretty sweet and set the tone for the second half of the season.  Get ready for your second half on the couch or in the armchair by purchasing a Pittsburgh Steelers inspired shirt.

NYC MARATHON FRANKENSTORM'S LATEST VICTIM

Hurricane Sandy, a.k.a., Frankenstorm, has claimed another victim, the ING NYC Marathon. The rumors have been confirmed.  The New York City Marathon has officially been cancelled.  Like a true politician, Mayor Michael Bloomberg flipped flopped from his position Friday, cowering to a growing cloud of criticism that this was no time to run the world's largest marathon, and nixed the event. He glanced up towards the grey November skies and proclaimed that he did not want "...a cloud to hang over the race or its participants."

The last minute cancellation of the marathon now puts a singular focus on the game this Sunday between the World Champion New York Giants and the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers.  This NFL matchup was already the "must see" game of the week.  The mayor's actions have  guaranteed that it is now the only show in town.

If you're bummed that there isn't going to be any marathon, or find yourself in the city that never sleeps, with nowhere to run 26.2 miles on a Sunday, then check out Giants vs Steelers.  Either that, or get an unofficial, unsanctioned shirt to commemorate your non-event.  Better yet, get yourself a shirt commemorating that super storm that made it all possible; FRANKENSTORM.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES INSPIRED iPHONE 5 CASE

Viewing Sunday night's matchup between the Super Bowl champion New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles, in Philly, from the comfort of my armchair, at home, promises to be the perfect way to end the weekend.

Although the G-men have ruled Hakeem Nicks out the game tonight, they will be looking for WR Ramses Barden to have a big game.  He stepped up for them last week against the Panthers with a 9 catch 138 yard breakout game, and according to a reliable Philadelphia Armchair Quarterback that I spoke to, will need to have a similar performance tonight.  If not, the Eagles might be able to simply phone it in.

NEW YORK GIANTS INSPIRED iPHONE CASE

The New York GIANTS scored on their first four possessions last night, eventually beating the Carolina Panthers, 36-7 on Monday Night Football.

Much like the customizable "Your Text Here" portion of this New York Armchair Quarterback iPhone case, not too much to say about the drubbing of Cam Newton and the Panthers last night.

BOYS TOPPLE GIANTS 24-17 IN OPENER

Tony Romo threw for 307 yards and three touchdowns as the Dallas Cowboys toppled the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants, 24-17 in the NFL season opener.

Romo completed 22-of-29 passes with one interception that nearly went for a 6-pick.  This was a promising start for the Cowboys, after going 8-8 last year and missing the playoffs after losing to the Giants in Week 17.

WR Kevin Ogletree had a notable performance, recording the first two touchdowns of his career while catching eight passes for 114 yards in the win.  On the ground, RB DeMarco Murrary ran for 131 yards on 20 carries.

It's only the first game of the season, but rest assured Dallas Cowboy fans and Dallas Armchair Quarterbacks at the office, in the bar, and across the nation will be rare form today and heading into the weekend.  They are justifiably juiced after getting revenge for last year, and providing Goliath a bit of a beat down on national TV.

BULLSEYE ON THE BACKS OF THE SUPER BOWL CHAMPS

Official officials or not, the NFL season gets underway tonight as the defending Super Bowl Champion New York Football GIANTS, take on the Dallas Cowboys at 8:30pm.

The NFL Network will be featuring performances by Mariah Carey and No Doubt from Rockefeller Center an hour earlier.

Whether you enjoy this particular brand of 'pregame' or not, one things for certain.  Of that, there is no doubt.  The defending 2011 World Champions will have a huge target on their backs as they get set to defend their title.

NO HASH FOR TYLER SASH, BUT STILL SUSPENDED

Safety Tyler Sash of the New York Football Giants was suspended four games for violating the NFL’s “Performance Enhancing Drug Policy”.  According to the NFL, he will still be eligible to participate in all of the preseason games and practices.
According to an article in the Columbus Dispatch this morning, Sash went on record claiming that “I took a prescription drug (Adderall) legally under a doctor’s care for an anxiety condition during the offseason in March of this year. The purpose was to help me with public-speaking appearances. I had no idea that this prescription drug was banned by NFL policy. Although I take full responsibility for this situation, I also want to state that I have never cheated or taken performance-enhancing drugs, and I frown on those who do.”
Not surprisingly, Sash added: “I am highly disappointed by the league’s decision.”

NY GIANTS RECEIVE SUPER BOWL RINGS

Congratulations to the Super Bowl XLVI champion New York Giants who received their championship rings at Tiffany's in New York City today.  Don't know about any of you, but I'm glad the Lombardi didn't go to Brady and the Patriots.

In other news, Jonathan Vilma files defamation lawsuit against NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

And finally, Drew Brees (Saints all-time leader in completions) admits to being frustrated with the slow contract negotiations.

NEW YORK GIANTS - 2011 World Champions

Belated congratulations to the New York Giants on their fourth Super Bowl or 'World' Championship if your prefer! They prevented the New England Patsies from claiming (or stealing) another Super Bowl, to the delight of many.  Fans all over the world, my self included, still think of Eli as a bit of a schmuck, but there is no denying that winning a second Lombardi ain't no fluke.

Brother Payton proved to be somewhat of a jerk through his schmuckatellian antics during Super Bowl week.

Here's an unauthorized image from Jack Fact Graphics commemorating, or at least inspired by, the GIANTS SUPER BOWL XLVI victory.  This image is available on a wide variety of awesome products.
