AWESOME DENVER BRONCOS INSPIRED SHIRT

Peyton Manning completed his 5000th pass last night as the Denver Broncos not unexpectedly, beat the Oakland Raiders 26-13, on Monday Night Football (MNF).  They improved to 10-3 with three games remaining, and have the AFC West wrapped up in plenty of time for Christmas.

Nevermind all that.

If you're a fan of Manning and the Broncos, be sure to get yourself or someone on your list the coveted Denver Armchair Quarterback shirt.

DENVER BRONCOS INSPIRED SWEATSHIRTS

The Denver Broncos are on a four game win streak and scheduled to play against the pathetically inept (sorry, too harsh?) San Diego Chargers.  They have arguably the best quarterback in the game, and are solid in all three phases of the game.  No Coach Shanahan, no Tebow, yet they are poised to make a legitimate Super Bowl run.  Given the recent rash of quarterback injuries after week 10, their chances of finding themselves in the hometown of the once gimpy-necked Manning's hometown on February 3, is a very real possibility.

If you're a Denver Armchair Quarterback, don't get left out in the cold.  Get a Denver Broncos inspired sweatshirt.  There are several styles and designs to choose from, but you might consider saving the hoodie for the Patriots fans.

PIZZA PLATES FOR PEYTON MANNING POT HEADS

In case you haven't heard, Peyton Manning has bought a shit load (21 to be exact) of Papa John's franchises.  Good move.  He'll obviously need the revenue they are expected to generate after he retires from the Denver Broncos.  After all, John Elway has the automobile market cornered with God knows how many car dealerships in the greater Denver area.  Anyway, Peyton's timing couldn't have been better following the legalization of that wacky weed out west.

I've been thinking about the legalization of marijuana in Colorado, and curious how this might impact beer sales in general, and sales of Coors in particular.  Equally perplexing is what will become of the beer commercials in the Mile High City on game days.  My guess is that commercials proclaiming "THIS BUDS FOR YOU" will now have a completely different connotation.  Could be that beer ads get replaced altogether, and we'll soon be watching pot ads instead.  Curious whether the marijuana marketeers (not sure there is a need for such an animal since the plant seemingly sells itself) introduce the concept of GAME DAZE?  They of course will need to find the right pitch man.  Cheech, Chong or Charlie Sheen perhaps?  Forget about sequestration and the fiscal cliff, we are on the precipice of paradigm shift in advertising boys and girls.  Instead of the endless stream of car commercials, Denver Armchair Quarterbacks are going to be fed a steady stream of Cheetos, Fritos, and Doritos ads.  Mark it down.  Clearly fans are going to get inundated with Papa Peyton Pizza advertisements as well.

If you're a Denver Armchair Quarterback, time to stock up on some choice pizza plates.  Party on dude!

DENVER COMEBACK ONE FOR THIS RECORD BOOK

Peyton Williams Manning has been back for quite some time now, and most of us have grown accustomed to seeing him wearing the orange and blue of the Denver Broncos.  I know I'm like a lot of armchair quarterbacks that never quite got used to saying the "Los Angeles Raiders" and occaisonally mistakenly referred to the "Baltimore Colts" long after they moved.  For many of us out there, Manning in the Mile High city has also taken a bit getting used to.

Suffice to say that Peyton's legacy as an Indianapolis Colt remains, but last night he played what was probably his most memorable game as a Denver Bronco.  It was one for the record books and will leave an indelible mark on our football consciousness, fixing in our memories; "Peyton Manning, quarterback of the Denver Broncos".
In terms of the game, the Broncos were down 24-0 at the half, and although it had just as much to do with an epic collapse by the San Diego Chargers, Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos did the unthinkable or at least the inexplicable.  In the end, they embarrassed the Chargers 35-24 on Monday Night Football (MNF).  No longer clad in the blue and white, Manning threw three touchdown passes in the second half, while the defense chipped in with two touchdowns of their own.

The performance wasn't exactly spectacular, but definately one for THIS record book.

DIRTY BIRDS BEAT BRONCOS 27-21 ON MNF

The Atlanta Falcons held on to beat Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos 27-21 on Monday Night Football.

Matt Ryan threw his 100th TD, Roddy White had over 100 yrds receiving, and Manning threw 3 picks early which put the Broncos in a 20-0 hole in the first quarter. The Broncos rallied late, but couldn't overcome the early deficit or suspect officiating.

PEYTON MANNING MILESTONE REACHED

Peyton Manning met a milestone Saturday, practicing in full pads for the first time in nearly 18 months.
This marked his first real practice since coming back from a nerve injury that prevented him from playing all last season,  and was a major factor in the noodle-necked QB being released from the Indianapolis Colts.
It has only been a couple of days since the start of Broncos training camp, so it is really far too soon to know whether Manning's health will prove to be a liability to either himself or the team.  Both players and coaches have suggested that Peyton Manning is fully recovered.

Now that number 18 has put on the pads, the next big test will be how he and his neck respond to the first significant hit.  There is no way of knowing when that will be.  Could be in preseason or could come a lot sooner from some rookie desperate to make the team.  The Chicago Bears will get the first opportunity at testing out his neck on August 9th in an exhibition game.  The Pittsburgh Steelers will get their chance on September 9th when the games count.

PEYTON AND DENVER OFFICIALLY SCREWED

Yup, it's official.  The Denver Broncos and quarterback Peyton (rhymns with 'Satan') are officially screwed, just ask Pat Roberston.  He was 'round when Denver released the Tebow, and sealed their fate...
“I think the Denver Broncos treated him shabbily. He won seven games. He brought them into the playoffs, for heaven sakes. I mean, they were a nothing team. He rallied them together with spectacular last-minute passes and, you know, when they beat Buffalo — I mean, Pittsburgh — it was a tremendous victory.”
Buffalo? Was he thinking Denver Colorado and was subconciously thinking about the University of Colorado in Boulder, i.e., the Buffaloes?  Surely the senile old coot didn't mean the Bills, did he?
“And you just ask yourself, OK, Peyton Manning was a tremendous MVP quarterback, but he’s been injured. If that injury comes back, Denver will find itself without a quarterback — and in my opinion, it would serve them right.”
Nothing outrageous yet, until he blathered on and let loose this gem.
"Manning deserves to get hurt after the Tim Tebow trade"
Damn.  I'm hoping, or in this case praying, that at the very least Manning's feelings get hurt.  Something that will fulfill the prophecy of this great sage of the 21st Century. Pat, holy shit dude, you're the best.

PS:  If God's wrath doesn't take down Peyton, maybe the fashion police will rough him up for that horrific suit-tie combination.

MANNING TEMPTING FATE BY WEARING DENVER NO. 18

Sure, Frank Tripucka gave Peyton Manning permission to wear his No. 18.  Really, why wouldn't he?  Still, I wonder if it might be bad karma to do this.  Probably not, but If I were Manning, and God knows I'm not, I wouldn't go tempting fate or doing anything that the football Gods might frown upon.
We will have to see if the gimpy-necked field general will be 100% this year, and whether or not he'll get TRIPUCKA'd at some point during the season.

"HEY PEYTON, BREAK A LEG!"
By the way, our boy Frank Tripucka was the first Denver Broncos QB to wear No. 18, and is one of only three Broncos to have his number retired.
