UNIQUE "UNOFFICIAL" BALTIMORE RAVENS SHIRTS

The Ravens are back in the AFC Championship game.  Back on the doorstep of the Super Bowl against last year's opponent; Billy Belichick, Tommy Brady, and the rest of the dreaded New England Patriots.

If you're a Baltimore Armchair quarterback or simply a fan of the Ravens, you've got to mix it up.  You CAN NOT wear those same jerseys and shirts from last year.  No way man!  You've got to break whatever bad karma might have been in those clothes.  Whatever you do when you watch the game this Sunday, DO NOT wear the same old tired Ravens' gear.  Do yourself a favor and get yourself a fresh new, and completely unsanctioned by the NFL, shirt or other great gear.  Got some great examples below:

COLTS BEAT BALTIMORE IN AFC WILDCARD

It wasn't too many years ago that this headline would have raised a few eyebrows, not as a measure of how well either team was playing, but because "Baltimore" and "Colts" was synonymous.  Obviously today we have the Baltimore Ravens and the Indianapolis Colts, and Sunday the two franchises play in the AFC Wildcard.  Driving in this morning I was wondering who claims those early successes of the Baltimore Colts?  If memory serves, according to the NFL and the record books, the Colts franchise does.   However, if you're from the city of Baltimore, a died-in-the-wool Baltimore sports fan, don't those victories belong to your city?  Ah, but I digress...

Who do I think is going to win this Sunday?  In my mind, it will come down to whoever wins the turnover battle, i.e., whoever has the most Luck.

FEELIN' A LITTLE OUTERBANXIOUS IN WEEK 13

It 's week 13 in the NFL and I'm bummed that Big Ben has been ruled out for Sundays' game against Baltimore.  Call it wishful thinking, especially given Ben's propensity for exaggerating the severity of some of his injuries, but I was hoping that he would see some playing time this week against Pittsburgh's hated AFC North rival.

In a year where the Pittsburgh Steelers are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Immaculate Reception, an early return by Roethlisberger's would have been the Christmas miracle of 2012.  Especially THIS week.  Instead, Pittsburgh Armchair Quarterbacks and fans of the Black & Gold will be watching Uncle Charlie and the Fumbling Wilburys instead.

I'm going to watch the train wreck in Baltimore, that is a given.  Still, with unseasonably warm temperatures this weekend, I'm gonna be feelin' a little Outerbanxious too.  (Had a great vacation in the Outer Banks this summer...).

MIKE WALLACE THE DIFFERENCE IN LOSS TO RAVENS

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Baltimore Ravens 13-10 on Sunday night.

Ordinarily this Pittsburgh Armchair Quarterback recognizes that football is a team game, and that a single play,  player, or bad officiating shouldn't be pointed out as the reason for a loss.  Still, I'm going to make an exception for the Pittsburgh Steelers' $10,000,000 million dollar receiver; Mike Wallace.

For get about the special teams gaffe, blame can be squarely put on Wallace.  For the last several weeks (seemingly every week this year) he seems to drop at least one very catchable ball. Goes with the territory, I guess.  Last night in a critically important divisional game, his lackluster performance was evident again.  These misdeeds are overlooked by otherwise solid play, but last night the Steelers needed the oft cited 110% from every man, woman and child.  The men came to play.  Mike Wallace?  Not so much.

No, they didn't get that kind of effort out of number 17.

He carelessly fumbled a would be first down in Pittsburgh territory, ultimately giving the Ravens 3 points and killing what momentum the Steelers had going at that point.  (If the defense hadn't been playing lights out, this could and most likely would have easily resulted in a touchdown).

Later, in a game where field position was critical and scoring opportunities scarce, he didn't get his feet in bounds on what would have been a Steelers touchdown.  The Steelers settled for a field goal, leaving 4 points on the field.  Lazy Mike Wallace did it again.

The real shot to the balls was that this game should have been won by the Pittsburgh Steelers.  They know it, the Baltimore Ravens know it, and most importantly Mike Wallace...

...well, here's hoping he knows it too.

DARTBOARD INSPIRED BY BALTIMORE RAVENS FAN

An authentic dartboard inspired not by the casual fan, but a separate breed of bird entirely, the Baltimore Armchair Quarterback.

With their semi-dramatic 23-16 win over the Cleveland Browns last night on Thursday Night Football (TNF), the Ravens are without question the team to beat in the AFC North.

BALTIMORE RAVENS INSPIRED iPHONE CASE

The Baltimore Ravens, with WR Torrey Smith leading the way, beat the New England Patriots, 31-30 last night in a back-and-forth affair last night.  The game ended in dramatic fashion when K Justin Tucker nailed the game winner as time expired.

Not sure if Torrey Smith received any congratulations or additional condolences after the game, but if he had, maybe he received one from an iPhone 5 featuring the Baltimore Armchair Quarterback logo.

BALTIMORE AND THE HUDDLE, NEVERMORE

The Baltimore Ravens no-huddle offense, orchestrated by coordinator Dean Pees, pissed all over the Cincinnati Bengals, in a 44-13 beat down on Monday Night Football.

QB Joe Flacco threw for 299 yards and two touchdowns.  The Bengals to their credit, pulled to within 4 around the midpoint, but the Ravens pulled away by scoring 24 unanswered points in the span of about six minutes.

Keys to the Ravens success was the Baltimore defense as would have been expected, but I don't think that even the Baltimore Armchair Quarterback had anticipated that Flacco would have executed the no-huddle so flawlessly.

The Baltimore Armchair Quarterback was asked if we will see a return of the huddle next week when Baltimore plays the Philadelphia Eagles. His response?

Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore".
