COOL UNOFFICIAL ATLANTA FALCONS SHIRTS

I'm looking forward to the championship games this weekend, and really what red blooded American  isn't?  My rooting interest?  I'm a Steeler fan, a river rat from the 'burgh.  Well, not exactly dahn tahn, but still within Allegheny County about 20 miles up along the Allegheny river.  But I digress...  As a Steelers fan, I'm a bit torn.  I hate the murderous (okay, alleged murderer) Ray-Ray Lewis and the rest of the Rat Birds.  I really can't bring myself to root for those chumps.  When I was younger it was a different story.   I used to support the representative from the AFC Central an ultimately the AFC.  I'm not sure I really follow those allegiances much anymore. Whomever I root for, it won't be those Ravens from Baltimore.

Guess I'm thinking San Francisco, especially considering the unthinkable; another ring for the Brady bunch.  Anyway, speaking of birds, I don't harbor any great animosity towards the Atlanta Falcons, at least not anything approaching the angst I feel towards the Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots.  In fact, as a boy I once had a Jack Lambert poster that featured #58 laying the wood to one of the Falcons running backs.  Since I used to fear that Joe Montana and the San Francisco 49'rs were messin' with the Steelers legacy when they were winning Super Bowls, I guess I'm getting behind the Dirty Birds this weekend.  Do they even refer to themselves by that tired moniker anymore?

Long winded here, but if you're a fan of the Matty Ice and the Atlanta Falcons, you'll want to get one of these cool "unofficial" shirts.

UNIQUE PATRIOTS HOODIES AND SHIRTS

Love 'em or hate 'em the New England Patriots have been an undeniable force the last decade and a half.  Some have speculated that there is some magic, karma, vodoo or something far more sinister associated with coach Bill Belichick and his famous hoodie.

If you're a Bostonian, New England Armchair quarterback, or simply a Patriots fan, do yourself a favor and get yourself one of these unique hoodies or shirts.

UNIQUE "UNOFFICIAL" BALTIMORE RAVENS SHIRTS

The Ravens are back in the AFC Championship game.  Back on the doorstep of the Super Bowl against last year's opponent; Billy Belichick, Tommy Brady, and the rest of the dreaded New England Patriots.

If you're a Baltimore Armchair quarterback or simply a fan of the Ravens, you've got to mix it up.  You CAN NOT wear those same jerseys and shirts from last year.  No way man!  You've got to break whatever bad karma might have been in those clothes.  Whatever you do when you watch the game this Sunday, DO NOT wear the same old tired Ravens' gear.  Do yourself a favor and get yourself a fresh new, and completely unsanctioned by the NFL, shirt or other great gear.  Got some great examples below:

GREAT SHIRT FOR SEATTLE SEAHAWKS 13TH MAN

Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks beat RG III and the Washington Redskins in impressive fashion in the divisional playoff.  What was most impressive is that they did it on the road in a hostile environment, without the benefit of their own "12th Man".  Make no mistake, there were plenty of Seattle Armchair Quarterbacks, a.k.a., the "13th Man" out there anxiously watching the game from man caves, couches and armchairs.  All following their various karma inducing rituals.  Remember each man's game day ritualistic belief is just like magic, only real...

Seattle is the hot team this year, that's for sure.  Get in the game by purchasing a Seattle Armchair Quarterback shirt.

COMMEMORATE FRANKENSTORM WITH A SURVIVOR SHIRT

You've got to love those "disaster survivor" shirts.  The "MY PARENTS WENT TO X-Y-Z DESTINATION, AND ALL I GOT WAS THIS LOUSY SHIRT" have been played out long ago, and these disaster themed shirts have seemingly filled the void.  Some of the ones commemorating Katrina were a bit too serious and somber, and nobody is really a fan of those.

I saw this raghead on the streets of D.C. the other day wearing a throbe (Muslin name for 'robe' - my interpretation) with the words "I SURVIVED THE DEFENSE OF THE U.S. CONSULATE - BENGHAZI 2012" printed on the back. I was seconds from kicking him in his kiester when I came to the realization that this was just the dude's Halloween costume.  That said, I still didn't appreciate the sentiment, but kept my foot to myself.

I don't know, maybe it's just a sign of the times.  Maybe I'm just being too sensitive.  I imagine people from the Greatest Generation and generations before them, wouldn't have cared too much for an "I SURVIVED PEAL HARBOR", "I SURVIVED AUSCHWITZ" or an "I SURVIVED THE TITANIC" offering, even if somebody had the audacity to have sold them.  No, come to think of it, I guess there wouldn't have been too many people rocking an 'I SURVIVED HIROSHIMA" or an "I SURVIVED THE HINDENBUR DISASTER" shirt.

In terms of natural disasters, the biggest East Coast storm on record was the 1938 New England hurricane known as the Long Island Express, which killed 800 people. As much as I tried, I could not find any record of shirts proclaiming, "I SURVIVED THE LONG ISLAND EXPRESS OF 1938".  It was also known as the "Yankee Clipper", but I still stuck out in my search for a shirt commemorating this beast of a storm.

Getting back on course...  What I'm really talking about are shirts for events like the East Coast earthquake of August 23, 2011.  You know, the earthquake that will live in infamy.  Those that survived remember it well.  It was the one that toppled plastic lawn chairs and knocked a few marble tiles off of the Washington Monument.  There were some pretty funny survival shirts, photos, and blogs that were generated as a result of that travesty. Those are the survival shirts that I'm talkin' about.  This year, this Halloween, we have a real opportunity for some more fun with this hybrid storm bearing down on the East Coast.  They're calling this super storm, "Part hurricane, part nor'easter - all trouble".  We shall see.

So to all you t-shirt aficionados, take a look at the weather map and determine if you're destined to be impacted by Hurricane Sandy, a.k.a., Frankenstorm.  If you are, then treat yourself and order one of these fine shirts.  The trick is to do it before you loose power or before Halloween, whichever comes first.

UNIQUE SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS SHIRTS

The San Francisco Giants took an improbable1-0 lead in the World Series last night, beating the Detroit Tigers 8-3 at AT&T Park.  It wasn't supposed to happen, at least not on paper. Wednesday night was supposed to be the Justin Verlander Show, but instead it was Pablo "Kung Fu Panda" Sandoval who grabbed the headlines. The lovable lard ass of a third baseman had one of those historic World Series games.  He hit three home runs in the first five innings, four hits overall on a surprising night for the red hot Giants.

I would have bet the shirt off my back that the Tigers had game 1 in the bag.  Lucky I didn't, or I would have been looking to buy one of these today...
