MIAMI DOLPHINS INSPIRED iPHONE

The Miami Dolphins routed the New York Jets 30-9 Sunday for their third straight victory.  It isn't clear whether the Dolphins are that good, or the New York Jets that bad.  Time will certainly tell.

Either way, fans of the Miami Dolphins could do a lot worse than this Armchair Quarterback offering.

GRONKOWSKI HAS MONSTER GAME

The New England Patriots were victorious in their overseas game against St Louis, fleecing the Rams 45-7.  TE Rob Gronkowski led the way with eight receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Apparently Gronk treated the New England 'fans', or at least the Britons that attended the game decked out in Patriots garb, to a couple of trademark spikes.

On Saturday night, Gronkowski also treated the London faithful who were at the NFL's Fan Rally at historic Trafalgar Square to a spike of another sort.  When he was being interviewed, the crowd urged him to "SPIKE THE MIC", to which he complied, breaking the device in the process.

COMMEMORATE FRANKENSTORM WITH A SURVIVOR SHIRT

You've got to love those "disaster survivor" shirts.  The "MY PARENTS WENT TO X-Y-Z DESTINATION, AND ALL I GOT WAS THIS LOUSY SHIRT" have been played out long ago, and these disaster themed shirts have seemingly filled the void.  Some of the ones commemorating Katrina were a bit too serious and somber, and nobody is really a fan of those.

I saw this raghead on the streets of D.C. the other day wearing a throbe (Muslin name for 'robe' - my interpretation) with the words "I SURVIVED THE DEFENSE OF THE U.S. CONSULATE - BENGHAZI 2012" printed on the back. I was seconds from kicking him in his kiester when I came to the realization that this was just the dude's Halloween costume.  That said, I still didn't appreciate the sentiment, but kept my foot to myself.

I don't know, maybe it's just a sign of the times.  Maybe I'm just being too sensitive.  I imagine people from the Greatest Generation and generations before them, wouldn't have cared too much for an "I SURVIVED PEAL HARBOR", "I SURVIVED AUSCHWITZ" or an "I SURVIVED THE TITANIC" offering, even if somebody had the audacity to have sold them.  No, come to think of it, I guess there wouldn't have been too many people rocking an 'I SURVIVED HIROSHIMA" or an "I SURVIVED THE HINDENBUR DISASTER" shirt.

In terms of natural disasters, the biggest East Coast storm on record was the 1938 New England hurricane known as the Long Island Express, which killed 800 people. As much as I tried, I could not find any record of shirts proclaiming, "I SURVIVED THE LONG ISLAND EXPRESS OF 1938".  It was also known as the "Yankee Clipper", but I still stuck out in my search for a shirt commemorating this beast of a storm.

Getting back on course...  What I'm really talking about are shirts for events like the East Coast earthquake of August 23, 2011.  You know, the earthquake that will live in infamy.  Those that survived remember it well.  It was the one that toppled plastic lawn chairs and knocked a few marble tiles off of the Washington Monument.  There were some pretty funny survival shirts, photos, and blogs that were generated as a result of that travesty. Those are the survival shirts that I'm talkin' about.  This year, this Halloween, we have a real opportunity for some more fun with this hybrid storm bearing down on the East Coast.  They're calling this super storm, "Part hurricane, part nor'easter - all trouble".  We shall see.

So to all you t-shirt aficionados, take a look at the weather map and determine if you're destined to be impacted by Hurricane Sandy, a.k.a., Frankenstorm.  If you are, then treat yourself and order one of these fine shirts.  The trick is to do it before you loose power or before Halloween, whichever comes first.

TAMPA BAY ARMCHAIR QUARTERBACK SHIRT

The Tampa Bay Armchair Quarterback salutes RB Doug Martin.  It's not every day that a rookie becomes his team's leading rusher, leading receiver and leading scorer.   Martin ran for 214 yards and scored two touchdowns in Tampa Bay's 36-17 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football (THF).

Pay homage to Martin's nationally televised breakout performance by purchasing one of these great shirts.

UNIQUE SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS SHIRTS

The San Francisco Giants took an improbable1-0 lead in the World Series last night, beating the Detroit Tigers 8-3 at AT&T Park.  It wasn't supposed to happen, at least not on paper. Wednesday night was supposed to be the Justin Verlander Show, but instead it was Pablo "Kung Fu Panda" Sandoval who grabbed the headlines. The lovable lard ass of a third baseman had one of those historic World Series games.  He hit three home runs in the first five innings, four hits overall on a surprising night for the red hot Giants.

I would have bet the shirt off my back that the Tigers had game 1 in the bag.  Lucky I didn't, or I would have been looking to buy one of these today...

CAROLINA PANTHERS INSPIRED iPHONE

The Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton has been called a petulant child on the NFL channel by Brian Billick, called a lot worse on various blogs, and called the unrepeatable on Twitter.  If you're a Carolina Panthers fan, you might want to insulate your phone from the onslaught of abuse by wrapping that rascal.  Check out these offerings, and do it in style.

CHICAGO BEARS INSPIRED iPHONE CASE

The Chicago Bears won their fourth straight game, beating the dregs of the NFC North last night on Monday Night Football (MNF), 13-7.  Detroit's Ndamukong Suh gave the Bears a scare when he administered a bit of beating to QB Jay Cutler, sacking him in dramatic fashion in the second quarter.

Some call Suh's sack excessive, others applaud the physicality.  Was it a good hit or not?  You make the call.

HOUSTON TEXANS INSPIRED iPHONE

The Houston Texans beat the snot out of the Ray-Ray-less Baltimore Ravens, to the tune of  43-13.  At 6-1, the Texans own the best record in the AFC.

Immediately following the win, Coach Gary Kubiak apparently had an awe inspiring locker room speech.  I wanted to check it out, but I seem to be having technical issues with my PC and haven't been able to watch it.  If I was smart and had an iPhone, I would have just checked it out there.

If you have an iPhone, or planning on getting an iPhone 5, you might want to jump on the Texans bandwagon by getting a Houston Texans inspired cover.  Whether you get one from Zazzle or not, is totally your call.
